Kevin Misener

Reporter, Afternoon

Kevin is a 680News “jack of all trades.” When he’s not hitting the streets as a reporter, he routinely fills in at the editor’s desk or as an anchor. Born in Simcoe, Ont., Kevin spent his early years in radio with stops in Oakville, Newmarket, Orangeville and Brantford before coming to 680News in 1998.

He considers those years his “post-graduate studies” in radio, having covered everything from local crime and politics, to major breaking news events, including a massive apartment explosion, a plane crash, spectacular recycling plant fire and a Royal visit by Queen Elizabeth II.

Kevin describes coming to 680News as “one of the most exciting days of my career.” At 680News, he still covers a wide range of assignments, but the most emotionally challenging and exhilarating story came Sept. 11, 2001 when he spent the first of 10 days reporting live from ground zero in New York City.

His spare time is filled with family, cycling, golf, playing guitar and volunteer work. Kevin’s charity act ivies have included work with the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
