TORONTO, On. - A new poll on the eve of the resumption of Parliament might give the incoming Conservative majority government pause.
The Environics survey for the CBC found most Canadians don't support corporate tax cuts or the purchase of F-35 fighter jets, two key Conservative campaign promises.
However, their plan for term limits for senators has the backing of 65 per cent of Canadians.
The poll also found there was little support for a merger between the New Democrats and the Liberals.
Three-quarters of NDP and 72 per cent of Liberals supporters said they opposed a merger.
