NEWMARKET, Ont. – A Toronto man faces dozens of charges after York Regional Police launched an investigation into a series of sexual assaults against women.

Police say they believe the man found women working in the sex trade through various websites.

It’s alleged the man drugged the victims to unconsciousness and then sexually assaulted them, and that the victims were photographed or videotaped during the assaults.

Allen Chow, 60, of Toronto, is charged with 21 counts of sexual assault and 21 other criminal offences related to administering a drug.

Chow has been held in custody and will next appear by video remand in a Newmarket, Ont., court on April 2.

Police say Chow is known to have frequented the Belleville, Cobourg, Oshawa, Toronto and Markham areas.
